SOLSTICE CHILDS POSE
This week in class Balasana has been a gesture of reverence, deep thanks, to the earth I live on and my place within it. I love this pose as so much more than a rest pose. To me it’s a refuge, a place to literally lay my head, and a shield of silence that helps a less than quiet mind drop in. I wear it as a gentle, loving armour against the often harsh brutalities of the world but, in light of this week's headlines from the US border, also as a keen awareness and acknowledgement of children living in the absolute opposite of the safety, protection and refuge that we as adults are duty-bound to provide. This is madness. Let's Stop.Drop.Child'sPose and come back to our senses.
