TRUE STRENGTh
We are, without a doubt, a species geared toward survival - strong, adaptive and astonishingly resilient. But this strength is meaningless if it sets and hardens us, leaving us impermeable to new ideas or experience. In true strength lie the softer qualities of kindness, compassion and understanding of the need to constantly review and recalibrate. Each asana holds the potential to explore softness in strength. It doesn't come naturally to me. I have to remind myself do it at least a dozen times a class - softly, of course.
