Who doesn't love a really good daydream? It's the birthplace of new ideas, creative thinking and all-round loveliness...until it isn't. The downside of a very heady existence can be compulsive thinking, worry, anxiety and even an excuse to 'check out' of what is really going on for us. I've never been short of ideas but historically have been less skilled at getting them out of my head and bedded down into any sort of reality. Embodied physical practices are just one way to help pull focus from the priority we unwittingly give our minds. It takes attention and constant reminders to check back into our bodies but when we move forward from a centred, embodied place life seems less fraught and positive action can replace endless procrastination. This is the value of ‘getting grounded’ and your body, spirit and, yes, even your bossy little mind will thank you for it.
